Resident Assistant Job Description 

Reports to: House Mother and Executive Director

Summary: Provides residential care on Friday thru Sunday Afternoon in accordance with State of Oregon DHS Licensing standards and Saint Child Board Policies. 

Contributes to a Christ-centered family environment;  A high level of trust, confidentiality and teamwork is demanded of this position.

Time Requirement:
20 hours paid per shift (shift is 8am Friday -12:00pm Sunday) This is a live-in position, with full room and board provided along with an hourly wage starting at $8.50 per hour. (There may be a possibility of additional hours at a later date).

The job includes the following responsibilities:

  • Support the overall mission and stated values of Saint Child;
  • Provide caring and consistent boundaries for residents through implementation of the Family Guidelines;
  • Organize recreational outings and/or appropriate in-home activities on week-ends; is frugal with money and has the ability to plan activities on a very limited budget.
  • Review weekly with the House Mother and Director the status, progress, and family situation of each resident;
  • Provide volunteer service project coordination;
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness in the home at all times;
  • Attend weekly staff meetings;
  • Other duties as they come up as assigned by the House Mother/Director.

Qualifications:

  • One year of practical experience working with adolescent girls.  Experience working with troubled youth preferred.
  • Ability to provide biblically sound spiritual guidance to residents.
  • Strong communication and relationship skills.  (Bi-lingual speaking applicants encouraged to apply).
  • Ability to model abstinence outside of marriage, and commitment to the pro-life cause.
  • Be a female over 25 years of age.
  • Undergo a criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance coverage.
